Dr Patrick Shearman

Executive Instructor, Digital Knowledge Co

Patrick is an IT program leader, educator, and former technology executive who brings a rare mix of “boardroom + classroom” experience to DKC courses.

He is Program Manager (Information Technology and MBA) at Sydney’s ICMS, where he oversees the development of undergraduate and postgraduate IT degrees and supports MBA students.

Before academia, Patrick built a career across major organisations and sectors - starting as a systems analyst at the London Stock Exchange, then moving through senior technology leadership roles in Australia including BT Financial Group, TAB and CIO roles at HCF and a data analytics startup.

In Digital Knowledge Co programs, Patrick is valued for translating complex topics (digital transformation, operating models, governance, and cyber/AI implications) into clear, structured learning that professionals can apply immediately. He holds a PhD from UTS Business School and has completed formal teaching development and executive education credentials including a teaching certificate from Harvard Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning and an AI strategy certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management.
